Transit Police are looking for a man who allegedly kicked an 8-year-old girl’s leg yesterday on the Orange Line.

T officials released a photograph of the suspect, seen above. He is described as “a black male, wearing a black wool coat, a large fur hat with ear flaps and blue hospital scrubs.”

The suspect allegedly kicked the child around 7:30 a.m. while exiting an Orange Line train as it entered Community College MBTA Station.

The assault was random and unprovoked, according to police.

“From what we understand this was an unprovoked incident where (the) subject was engaged in verbally harassing other passengers as well prior to the assault on the child,”  Lt. Richard Sullivan told Metro.

If identified, the suspect will be charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon – a shod foot.
