It’s believed that a child may have started a three-alarm fire that tore through a 27-story apartment building in the Bronx on Saturday morning, injuring 48 people, five of them critically, Gothamist reports.

More than 135 firefighters responded to the fire at an E. 149th St. apartment building, fighting to contain it for more than two hours after it started around 7:40 a.m. A child playing with a cigarette lighter on the fifth floor is suspected to be the cause of the fire.

A one-year-old girl and both of her parents were among the most severely stricken in the smoky building and had to be revived by paramedics. The mother and daughter are stable but the father is still in critical condition, according to the Daily News.

Five firefighters and two paramedics were also among the injured, but are expected to make a full recovery.
