More than 500 students to participate in Kimmel Center concert

More than 500 Music students from across the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will perform Thursday at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts, officials said.

The students will perform for this year’s Monsignor Louis A. D’Addezio Concert of Excellence. The concert will be held in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center.

The D’Addezio concert will open with student musicians performing the Star Spangled Banner. Eight ensembles will perform music from genres ranging from classical to jazz and pop.

“Many of the 17 high schools, 123 elementary schools and 4 schools of special education from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will be represented. Students from 10 private Catholic high schools are also taking part,” according to a news release.
