Philadelphia fugitive nabbed in western New York
A fugitive wanted in connection with two shootings in Philadelphia is in custody after he was arrested in western New York.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Service for the Western District of New York arrested Tymere Jones, 19, in Rochester Wednesday morning, the Democrat and Chronicle (N.Y.) reports.
Jones is accused of shooting a man during a Sept. 12, 2011, robbery and shooting a woman who was fighting another woman on Aug. 13, 2012.
Philadelphia police, having developed information Jones was in Rochester, contacted the U.S. Marshals office in New York Tuesday morning to ask for their help apprehending the Philadelphia fugitive, the paper reports.
Jones has been charged as a fugitive from justice. He is being held in a New York jail while he awaits extradition to Pennsylvania.
