Authorities are trying to determine who killed a man and a woman who were found dead inside a car in Chelsea early Monday morning.

The man and woman were identified as Zouaoui Dani-Elkebir, 51, and Karima El-Hakim, 38, both of Everett.

Police responded to Crescent Avenue after they received an emergency call at about 4 a.m. When emergency crews arrived they found Dani-Elkebir and El-Hakim dead inside a blue Ford LTD.

The Suffolk district attorney’s office said investigators believe the deaths are suspicious, but released few details yesterday. The district attorney’s office said the cause and manner of death would be formally determined by the medical examiner’s office.

Both Dani-Elkebir and El-Hakim had been shot to death, the Globe reported, citing sources. Residents of the neighborhood of the murder scene told the Globe that they heard multiple gunshots and someone running past their home before police arrived.

After the duo was shot, the Ford apparently jumped the curb, ran through some shrubs and came to rest near a commercial building, according to the Globe. The car had a livery license plate and the driver’s side window also appeared to be shot out.

Anyone with information can call 617-466-4843 or to remain anonymous text the word CHELSEA and information to TIP411(847411).
