VIDEO: Man returns to brutal robbery scene – just to kick victim again

Police are looking for two men caught on camera committing a particularly brutal robbery, during which the victim was beaten so severely that he is expected to lose his eye, according to investigators.

In fact, moments after the robbery, one of the suspects allegedly returned to the scene of the crime – just to kick the victim several more times.

Officers on May 25 responded at 2:30 a.m. to a robbery in progress at the New Nan Chang takeout restaurant at 2136 W. Oxford St.

They found a man, 26, lying on the floor of the restaurant with severe injuries to his face and head.

That man can be seen on surveillance video standing at the cashier’s window inside the takeout restaurant several minutes earlier.

Police said he was ordering food when an unknown man entered the store.

The suspect, armed with what police said appear to be brass knuckles, can be seen on tape sidling up to the victim, then suddenly – and seemingly without provocation – turning toward the man and punching him repeatedly in the head until he falls to the ground.

Investigators said he then rifled through the victim’s pockets, taking an unknown amount of cash.

A second suspect can be seen on tape poking his head into the restaurant.

Police said the two men then left the store.

But the first man allegedly returned moments later – just to kick the victim several more times.

Both men then crossed 22nd Street and got into a white or silver four-door car, according to investigators.

The victim was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital, where police on Thursday said he was being treated for serious injuries, including a broken nose, orbital socket and nasal passages.

Authorities said a doctor advised them the damage is so severe, the man is expected to lose his right eye.

The first suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 25 with a short beard. He was last seen wearing a blue Nike hoodie with a small emblem and blue jeans.

The second suspect is described as a stocky black male between the ages of 25 and 30. He was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket with a white hood, jeans and black sneakers with white bottoms.
