A man is accused of fatally shooting a woman in Delaware County on Sunday afternoon, then killing himself in Southwest Philadelphia.

Prospect Park police were called to a home on the 1300 block of Fletcher Avenue for reports of a shooting shortly before 4 p.m.

They found a woman, 31, who had been shot in the chest and face. Despite the efforts of responding paramedics, she was pronounced dead on the scene.

Her identity has not yet been released.

A witness told authorities that after gunshots were heard, a man left the residence and fled the scene in a van.

Philadelphia police officers around two hours after the shooting found a man matching the suspect’s description inside a van parked on the 8600 block of Mario Lanza Boulevard in Southwest Philadelphia. He had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene, according to investigators.

That man has been identified as Anthony Serody, 38.

Police said the investigation into the deaths is ongoing.
