Westwood mom accused of attacking child with hedge clippers
A Westwood woman who allegedly attacked her daughter with electronic hedge clippers is facing attempted murder charges.
Maureen Mullin is charged with attempted murder, mayhem, assault and battery on a child with injury, and assault and battery with a deadly weapon, according to the Westwood Patch.
“The weapon used in this case was a garden tool — more specifically hedge clippers,” Westwood Police Chief Jeff Silva told WCVB.
Early Monday morning, police were called to the home at 126 Pond St. for a report of a “violent” domestic disturbance. The father of the child was able to intervene in the assault and stop further harm from being done, said the Patch.
Mullin and her daughter are currently recovering in a Boston hospital.
