Jury needs more time deciding Bulger verdict
After three days and more than 20 hours of deliberations the jury is still out on James “Whitey” Bulger.
Jurors indicated to Judge Denise Casper on Thursday that they needed more time to weigh the 32 counts against the 83-year-old former mob boss. They were dismissed for the day at 4:30 p.m.
The jury began its deliberation on Tuesday. Jurors will return to the court Friday morning.
Jurors requested on Thursday to see a MP40 submachine gun. That was there only question on Thursday.
While jurors spent all of Thursday behind closed doors with little communication to the judge, it is unclear how close they are to a verdict.
