Josiah Simmons, missing JP video store owner, found safe
The owner of a video store in Jamaica Plain has been found safe more than three days after he was last seen.
Josiah Simmons was reported found on Thursday, Boston police said. He was last seen on Sunday.
“The Boston Police Department is pleased to report that Mr. Simmons has been located. His family has been notified that he is safe. We thank everyone for their assistance,” police said in a statement.
Simmons, 31, the owner of Video Underground, was the subject of a missing person alert by Boston police on Wednesday. Police said Simmons was last seen Sunday near the Stony Brook MBTA station.
Police offered no reason for his disappearance.
Simmons was well-known in the Jamaica Plain community and his disappearance led to many posts online and on social media seeking help to locate him.
A woman who answered the phone at Video Underground Wednesday declined to give her name, but said the store’s community was “really worried and really concerned,” and that they couldn’t wait to have him back.
