A cabbie was arrested and charged with murder after police said he chased and ran down a car his ex-girlfriend was riding in and then stabbed her to death on a Bronx highway early Wednesday morning.

Driving a lime green outer borough taxi, police said Donis Espinal, 31, followed his ex-girlfriend, who was also the mother of his month-old child, after seeing her leave a nearby hotel with another man, according to the New York Daily News.

Just before 4 a.m., police said Espinal sideswiped an SUV his ex, Katherine German, was riding in at the entrance ramp to northbound New England Thruway from Pelham Parkway in the Bronx.

Police said Espinal exited his taxi with a knife after the crash, approached the SUV and stabbed German, 20, numerous times while she was still in the crushed vehicle.

Emergency personnel declared German dead at the scene of the accident. The car’s driver, who police sources told the Daily News was German’s date, sustained minor lacerations from the accident but refused medical attention.

Espinal was taken into custody from the scene and later charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal contempt.

Police sources told the Daily News the high-speed chase began after Espinal watched German and another man leave a $40-for-four-hours motel.

But Espinal’s violent behavior began long before allegedly chasing German and her date.

German got an order of protection against Espinal in May after he hit her so hard in the face she fell to the the floor, according to court records reviewed by the Daily News. Espinal then allegedly jumped on top of her, punching her several more times.

The couple began dating three years ago, and their daughter Audrey was born at the end of July.

Until the assault in May, they lived together with German’s mother, family told the Daily News.
