Robbers steal tip jar from teen running concession stand in Central Park boathouse
A teenage concession stand worker was robbed at the Central Park boathouse Tuesday night.
Police said a 16-year-old boy was running the Loeb Boathouse concession stand around 6 p.m. when two suspects entered the booth and demanded money.
After the teen said there was no money, the younger suspect brandished a folding knife and demanded money again.
The young worker complied, handing over the booth tip jar, and the two suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash. The teen was not harmed during the incident.
Cops described the first suspect as a black male, aged 15 to 16, 5 feet 7 inches. He was wearing a turquoise t-shirt and dark jeans.
The second suspect is a black male, 18 to 20, police said. He was wearing a black shirt, pants and du rag.
Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
