Today at 11 a.m. the city will make its feelings known.

City officials will offer opinions to members of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on the six proposals submitted for the open casino license. The board will consider the city’s reviews when it makes the final decision, which could come before the end of the year.

The meeting, which is public, will be held in room 108 B at 11 a.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Three of the planned locations are for the South Philly Sports Complex. Two are in Center City, and one is in Fishtown.

Talking points will include the casino’s possible impact on transportation, infrastructure and revenue production, among others.

“I think it’s important also to hear in particular how the city feels a second casino would fit and how and what that impact is going to be to the city both positive and negative,” said Doug Harbach, board spokesman.

The suitability hearing, in which all six applicants appear before the board, will be the next step, but no dates have been announced.
