Craig Wright, 29, was arraigned in Manhattan criminal court on Tuesday after his arrest Monday evening. Wright is facing felony gang assault charges.

Wright is accused of taking part in the biker gang assault on Alexian Lien, the 33-year-old father who was driving an SUV with his wife and 2-year-old daughter inside when he got into an altercation with a crowd of bikers on the West Side Highway.

The assault itself took place just off of the highway on West 178th Street. According to the criminal complaint,  Wright was one of several bikers who punched Lien through the driver’s side window after it was shattered by another biker who beat it in repeatedly with his helmet.

Wright is also allegedly seen on video stomping on Lien at least twice after a group of bikers dragged Lien from the car and threw him to the ground.

According to the criminal complaint, Wright confessed to police that he was the person seen in video and photos wearing a black helmet with spikes on it, a dark-colored sweatshirt and sunglasses.

An informant apparently told a detective that she was present at the time of the assault and confirmed that the video and photos are accurate.

The criminal complaint specified that five or six people could be seen crowded around Lien while he lay prone on the ground next to his car.

So far, authorities have over the previous three days charged three other people in addition to Wright. One other person was arrested but the Manhattan D.A. ultimately decided not to prosecute him. On Tuesday, the NYPD released photos of four new individuals wanted in connection to the West Side Highway biker assault.

Wright’s next court appearance is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11. His attorney did not respond to a request for comment on today’s arraignment.
