Two freshman rugby players at Nichols College were hospitalized after teammates reportedly forced them to drink alcohol during a hazing initiation. Now, the older students are in serious trouble and the season has been suspended.

While they weren’t arrested, the students will appear in Dudley District Court on Wednesday.

Michael J. Ricci, 20, of North Reading; Stephan J. Martucci, 23, of Guilford, Conn.; Patrick J. McStravock, 19, of Windham, N.H.; Remington M. Stone, 20, of Franklin; Nicholas Veseli, 20, of Stamford, Conn.; and Sabelo Ndhlovu, 23, of Dudley, will be arraigned Oct. 30, the Worcester Telegram reports. The group was spending time at The Rugby House at the time of the incident, WBZ writes.

One of the hazing victims told authorities that he was forced to take five shots after practice, or he wouldn’t make the team.

A spokesman for the college, Ronald Schachter, released a statement on Monday: “The college has become aware of an allegation of an off-campus incident involving Nichols students. We will continue to follow up with the appropriate authorities to gather more information about the alleged incident if and when it becomes available.”
