Citymaps ranks 20 ‘most dangerous gyms’ in New York City by proximity to fast-food

After a hard go on the treadmill at Crunch Fitness in the Financial District, New Yorkers risk temptation from 25 fast-food joints within just a one-block radius.

But hazardous french fry fumes near the city’s “most dangerous” gyms can be avoided with a new ranking by Citymaps.

The social map app found that the city’s 20 “most dangerous” gyms, based on their proximity to fast-food restaurants, are in Manhattan.

Otherwise healthy patrons of the downtown Crunch may be swayed by greasy grub offered at locations that are, on an average, just 625 feet away.

Guests at the New York Sports Club on Wall Street and OM Factory in Midtown won’t fare any better, with 25 fast food restaurants within walking distance of those gyms as well.

“If you attend any of these gyms, we hope you’ve been working on your sprint,” Citymaps wrote on the company blog.
