Delaware State Police plan to charge a Wilmington woman for her fourth offense DUI after a two-vehicle crash Friday left one person in critical condition, according to authorities.

Investigators said Kimberly Mauk, 46, was driving a 2007 Honda Odyssey south on Concord Pike when she shortly before 7 p.m. attempted to make a left turn at the intersection of Fairfax Boulevard.

Mauk allegedly turned directly into the path of a 2005 Honda Accord being driven north on Concord Pike by a 37-year-old Newark man.

The two vehicles collided at the intersection.

The 37-year-old driver of the Accord was taken to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

One of his passengers, a 35-year-old woman, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Two other passengers, a 3-year-old male child and a 15-month-old female child, were treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.

Mauk was admitted to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation allegedly revealed Mauk was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Troopers have active warrants for the woman’s arrest.

Police said she will be arraigned and formally charged after she is released from the hospital.

Mauk faces two counts each of first-degree vehicular assault and second-degree vehicular assault.

Authorities said she also faces charges of a 4th offense DUI, driving with a suspended or revoked license and failure to yield.

In the meantime, troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
