Rockefeller Center Christmas tree to arrive on Friday
The Christmas tree that will light up Rockefeller Center this year will be hauled into Midtown on Friday morning.
This year’s tree hails from Shelton, Conn. The 76-foot, 12-ton Norway spruce is being chopped down at 9 a.m. Thursday and hoisted onto a flatbed truck for its trip to New York City.
This is the second time since 2007 that the Rockefeller Center tree was chosen from Shelton, which is about 75 miles from the city.
The 81st annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4. The tree can be viewed through Jan. 7.
