You stay classy, Emerson.

The Boston liberal arts school will host a daylong visit by “Anchorman 2″ star Will Ferrell next month when Emerson College renames the School of Communication after his character Ron Burgundy for the day.

Emerson said in a news release Monday that Ferrell will share Burgundy’s “path to journalism greatness” with students.

“I had to pinch myself really hard when I learned that Emerson College was naming its School of Communication for me. It’s kind of a big deal,” said Burgundy in a tongue-in-cheek statement from Emerson. “I can’t wait to inspire students with my story of how I got to the top … the very top. I’m not going to sugarcoat it. It’s a lot of work, especially if you don’t have good hair.”

There will also be a morning news conference, an official naming ceremony that will be streamed online and an evening screening of “Anchorman 2″ that Ferrell will introduce.

“A visit from Ron Burgundy is a chance to engage with someone who understands the power of media, as well as hairspray, first-hand,” said Emerson College President Lee Pelton.

“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” comes out Dec. 20, meaning those in attendance at Ferrell’s Emerson visit Dec. 4 will get a sneak preview of the film.
