NYPD officers fatally shot 16 people in 2012, the most in any year during the Bloomberg administration, a new report shows.

The police department released its Annual Firearms Discharge Report, which details the 105 times officers fired their weapons last year.

The number of fatal shootings by police officers in 2012 jumped from nine in 2011. The last time there were more fatal police shootings was in 1998, when 19 people were shot and killed by police.

Last year’s fatal shootings include high-profile incidents such as the death of Ramarley Graham, an unarmed 18-year-old Bronx resident who was chased and shot by a cop inside his home.

While the number of fatalities increased, the number of people who were shot and injured by police decreased, from 19 in 2011 to 14 in 2012.

Police shootings have been steadily declining since 1971. That year, 93 people were shot and killed by police officers and 221 were injured.

The report also found that 13 police officers were shot and injured in 2012, the highest since 1997. None were killed.

Other incidents in the report include 24 times that officers opened fire on dogs, and eight incidents in which officers killed themselves with their service weapons.
