A father threw his 3-year-old son off the roof of Manhattan high-rise and then committed suicide Sunday afternoon following “domestic turmoil,” police said.

Dmitriy Kanarikov, 35, threw his son Kirill from the roof of  425 W. 60th St. around 12:30 p.m. and then jumped himself, police said. They hit separte landings of an adjacent building, police said.

“Tragically, he took the son to the roof and all indications are that he threw him off and… jumped himself,” NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said Monday. “The mother, obviously, is very distraught.”

Kanarikov was pronounced dead by emergency personnel at the scene at 12:43 p.m. His son was rushed to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital across the street, but pronounced dead at 12:45 p.m.

Kanarikov and the boy’s mother were married in 2009 but split up in August. The mother obtained a restraining order against Kanarikov, allowing him only supervised visits with Kirill, Kelly said.

Kanarikov demanded his wife she sign over their Brooklyn home and other property to him and threatened to “take” their child if she did not, Kelly said, though he never threatened to harm his son.

On Sunday, Kanarikov picked his son up at 10 a.m. and together they went to the 52-story South Park Tower where an acquaintance lived. That acquaintance was not believed to have been involved in the incident, Kelly said.
