SEPTA adds extra trains for Saturday’s Eagles game
SEPTA is ensuring that Philadelphia Eagles fans get to the playoff game on time this Saturday night.
The game against the New Orleans Saints starts at 8:10 p.m. down at Lincoln Financial Field. But starting at 5:48 p.m., the first of 14 “sports express” trains on the Broad Street Line that will take commuters to the stadium leaves.
They will be making stops at Fern Rock, Olney, Erie, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust stations on their way to AT&T station near the Linc. These extra trains will run in addition to the regularly scheduled local train service.
The Market Frankfort Line will also see more trains with a free connection to the Broad Street Line at 15th Street Station.
When the game is over, SEPTA officials said, trains will be waiting for fans at AT&T station.
SEPTA will also have their iSEPTAPhilly promotional team at the stadium for pre-game festivities. There’s a booth set up for people to pose for pictures on social media and to win a chance to practice a “touchdown” throw in the Bus Toss Game.
Trains and buses will be decked out in Eagles wraps that say “The world’s greatest fans rides these trains.”
