Mayor Bill de Blasio will meet with top city officials on the impending snowstorm Thursday afternoon during his second day in office.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for parts of the five boroughs from 6 p.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. A coastal flood watch was also issued for parts of the city.

Between 4 and 8 inches of snow will accumulate during the storm, according to the service. Wind chills could dip below 0 degrees.

The top officials will meet at the Office of Emergency Management situation room in Brooklyn at 4 p.m. After the meeting, de Blasio will brief the public. (Live stream available at nyc.gov.)

The Department of Sanitation issued a snow alert beginning Friday. When the snow begins, plow progress can be tracked online.

The storm is believed to be de Blasio’s first test as mayor. Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg was wildly criticized for his handling of the 2010 storm, which left 20 inches of snow blanketing the city. Many streets went unplowed for days.
