8-year-old Dover boy held up at knife point
An 8-year-old Dover, Del. boy said a man tried to rob him at knife-point Wednesday, police said.
Delaware State Police said the boy was walking through a housing development near the intersection of Scotch and Loblolly Pine Drives just after 5 p.m. when he was approached by a black man between the ages of 30 and 40 brandishing a knife.
The boy told his mother that the stranger approached him while he was walking home from a friend’s house and threatened to stab him if he didn’t give him all his money.
After the man demanded money, the child turned to run away. As the boy turned, the man lunged at him with the knife, police said.
The boy was able to elude the man and made it home safely.
The attacker is described as standing about 6’02” and weighed between 150 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants and a black ski mask.
He drove a while work van with tinted windows.
