Noose tightens around ‘Swiss Cheese Pervert’ spotted in Northeast Philly
The Swiss Cheese Pervert’s days may be numbered.
Just days after information was made public concerning the alleged “Swiss Cheese Pervert” — a man who reportedly drives around Northeast Philadelphia exposing himself to women and asking them to perform lewd acts involving a piece of Swiss cheese — residents believe police are close to arresting a suspect.“We understand that they are [going to take steps soon]. And actually knew before [Philadelphia Magazine] went to his home,” said Mayfair Civic Association chairman Joseph DeFelice in an email.
A Philadelphia Magazine piece tentatively identified the suspect as Chris Pagano, of Norristown. Pagano, 41, declined to comment to the magazine after answering his door naked to the waist when a reporter rang his doorbell.
A listed phone number for Pagano was disconnected.
Today, members of the Mayfair Town Watch posted on Facebook that Philadelphia police are collecting statements from victims before taking any legal action against a suspect.
A Philadelphia Police Department spokesperson declined to comment.
News of the Swiss Cheese predator’s activities was made public on Thursday on the Mayfair Town Watch Facebook page, when town watch members posted a photograph of a man who allegedly approached and harassed women around the neighborhood.
“Good Morning Mayfair! Please be aware of the Swiss Cheese Pervert!” read the post on the Town Watch’s Facebook page. “This individual is driving around surrounding communities and exposes himself to women. He offers them money to watch him put swiss cheese on his privates.”
The suspect was described by Town Watch members as a white heavyset male in his 40s or 50s, driving a newer model silver or black sedan.
Furthermore, many women have reportedly been harassed on online dating sites such as Match.com and OkCupid by a person asking for their participation in a Swiss cheese-related sex act.
One of them even shared a letter that the alleged cheese-loving Don Juan sent her.
“Cheese is what I started to use as a replacement for having sex with girls,” he allegedly wrote in a message on the OKCupid dating service to the Bridesburg woman.
She said he asked her to use cheese to perform masturbation on him.
“This behavior is reprehensible and scary,” DeFelice wrote. “I just hope that people realize that only a small number of these incidents happened in Mayfair.”
