Berklee College of Music alumni up for dozens of Grammy awards tonight

Members of the Berklee College of Music community have a lot to root for during Sunday night’s Grammy awards show. 

More than two dozen Berklee alumni have been nominated for Grammy awards this year, including three of the four members of the band Imagine Dragons. A total of 30 alumni were nominated by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for a total of 36 Grammy awards, according to the college.

Also, for the third year in a row, Berklee alumni are nominated in the top three categories: album of the year, record of the year and song of the year.

Before Sunday night’s award show, Berklee alumni have already won 231 Grammy awards.

The Berklee nominations are:

Record of the Year
“Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons; Berklee nominees: Imagine Dragons members – guitarist Wayne Sermon, class of ’08, drummer Daniel Platzman, class of ’09, bassist Ben McKee, class of ’09; Josh Mosser, class of ’05, engineer/mixer.
“Locked out of Heaven” by Bruno Mars; Berklee nominees: Jeff Bhasker ’99, co-producer; Josh Blair ’99, engineer/mixer.
“Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell; Berklee nominees: Tony Maserati ’86, engineer/mixer.

Album of the Year
Red, artist: Taylor Swift; Berklee nominees: Jeff Bhasker ’99, co-producer; Pawel Sek ’00, engineer/mixer.
Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, artist: Kendrick Lamar; Berklee nominees: Anna Wise ’10, featured artist; Dawaun Parker ’05, co-producer.

Song of the Year

Best Pop Instrumental Album

Best Rock Performance
