Pregnant woman dies after getting hit by snowplow in Brooklyn
A 36-year-old pregnant woman was killed after being struck by a private snowplow in Brooklyn on Thursday, police said, but doctors were able to save her baby.
Min Lin, who lived in Brooklyn, was rushed to a nearby hospital about 10:45 a.m. after the Bobcat plow hit her next to the Fei Long Market on 63rd Street near Eighth Avenue in Sunset Park. She had suffered severe body trauma, and was taken to Maimonides Medical Center.
Police said the woman died at the hospital, but doctors were able to save the baby boy.
The driver of the snowplow, a 42-year-old man, remained at the scene as police arrived. He was driving in reverse when the vehicle hit Lin. An investigation into the incident was opened Thursday afternoon.
