Firefighters injured in blaze at Queens church
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a blaze inside a Queens church that injured several firefighters early Monday morning.
Flames broke out just after 3 a.m. in the basement of the Deliverance Tabernacle Church on Sutter Avenue in South Ozone Park, the fire department said.
More than 100 firefighters responded to the blaze, which quickly spread to the first floor of the church.
The fire was brought under control in about 90 minutes, after some trouble with frozen hydrants, the FDNY said.
Four firefighters were treated at Jamaica Hospital for minor injuries.
The cause of the two-alarm fire is under investigation.
