Former sportscaster Tollefson faces theft charges
Former Philadelphia sports broadcaster Don Tollefson is scheduled to be arraigned in Bucks County on Tuesday on charges alleging he misappropriated funds he raised in the name of various charities.
Prosecutors allege Tollefson, who worked for Fox Philadelphia and 6ABC Action News, stole more than $100,000 intended for charity organizations, Action News reported.
Tollefson allegedly raised money for such organizations as Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, the Salvation Army and the Brad Fox Foundation, but kept it for himself.
The alleged thefts victimized more than 100 Bucks County residents over a three-year period.
Tollefson is scheduled to appear in court at noon.
A Montgomery County judge last month ordered Tollefson to reimburse a couple for promised plane tickets to the Super Bowl in New Orleans in 2013.
