Two people, including an autistic teen, died as a result of fires in Philadelphia on Monday.

An 89-year-old man died after he was rescued from a house fire in Germantown late Monday, CBS Philly reported. The victim was removed from the home on East Washington Street as firefighters battled the blaze, which started about 11:20 p.m., but he went into cardiac arrest and later died.

Philadelphia firefighters arrived to the Germantown home to find heavy flames and smoke. It took about 30 minutes to contain the fire.

The elderly man’s death was the second fire-related fatality in the city on Monday, the third in two days.

An autistic 14-year-old boy died at Albert Einstein Medical Center after he was rescued from a fire in Logan on Monday evening, 6ABC Action News reported. The fire started on the 4800 block of North 9th Street about 5 p.m.

The cause of each fire remains under investigation.

A 98-year-old woman died in a fire in West Philadelphia on Sunday.
