Girl, 15, charged with murder in stabbing of boy, 14
The teenage girl who stabbed a 14-year-old boy last week faces murder charges after the boy died Tuesday.
Amber Hellensten, 15, was charged with the murder of Azim Chaplin, whom she allegedly stabbed in the chest on Feb. 11 on the 2100 block of Watkins Street in Point Breeze, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
A motive has not been released, however police have speculated that an argument sparked the exchange.
Azim Chaplin died Tuesday night at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Hellensten’s preliminary hearing is set for March 4.
