More snow heading toward Philadelphia
The National Weather Service forecast for Philadelphia is calling for a winter weather event Sunday night into Monday.
The storm will “affect both the morning and evening commutes on Monday,” a National Weather Service statement reads.
The Philadelphia forecast currently calls for rain to potentially turn over to a rain-sleet mix between 11 p.m. Sunday and 2 a.m. Monday before switching over to snow later Monday morning. While the potential for sleet remains, NWS notes in the statement that “models are trending snowier as a precipitation type.”
NWS expects that the storm would become all snow by about 8 a.m. Monday even if sleet is mixing in at first.
Accuweather forecasts are predicting up to a foot of snow for points north of I-95, according to 6ABC Action News.
