What is with college educators acting out inappropriate today?

First, Rutgers basketball coach, Mike Rice, was fired for his abusive behavior toward the team.

Now news is coming out that a Fresno City College instructor and former city council member is on paid leave from the college after body-slamming a teenage student.

And here we thought only wrestlers actually body-slammed people.

Kevynn Gomez, 19, who is 5’1 and 101 pounds, told Brian Calhoun to “piss off, a-hole,” when he marched into her Chicano-Latino Studies class and yelled at the substitute teacher and students for staying in the room past the class’ end time.

Calhoun reacted the way most people would (no, not really): He “trapped her left arm and used his other forearm to pin her neck against the wall while he was still holding her left arm” according to multiple witnesses.

Gomez punched Calhoun in the face to free herself from his hold. Calhoun blames the whole fight on Gomez.

“This would have never happened if she hadn’t lashed out,” his attorney Roger Nuttall told The Fresno Bee on Monday.

Right, because physically hurting a teenage student who called you a name is totally normal.
