This week in videos: A singing astronaut, ‘Arrested Development’ and horror out of Syria

In case you missed this week’s best videos, here’s a recap. Happy watching!

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford denies allegations that he smoked crack cocaine, despite reporters from the Toronto Star newspaper, and Gawker Media claiming they have seen a video that appears to show Ford smoking crack.  NMAtv got a hold of the story and created their animated version of Ford smoking crack in Toronto.

For the months he has been in space, Canadian astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield has earned a substantial following with his videos and tweets. And, as he prepares to return to earth after his five-month mission, Hadfield has recorded his own version of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.” Hadfield has gathered more than 750,000 followers on Twitter, and David Bowie himself tweeted: “CHRIS HADFIELD SINGS SPACE ODDITY IN SPACE! Hallo Spaceboy…”

Oh man, you guys, it’s really happening. Rumors of a new season of “Arrested Development” — plus rumors of a still-unconfirmed movie — have been bandied about the Internet for, what, years now? And it’s finally happening. The trailer for the fourth season just hit YouTube, and has people all kinds of amped. the eff. up. Season four’s 15 episodes will be streamed in their entirety beginning May 26 exclusively on Netflix, company that is killing it recently, by the way.

Apparently, she will always love youuuuuuuu. But that wasn’t enough to prevent a female passenger from being taken off a New York-bound flight from Los Angeles for refusing to stop belting out the Whitney Houston hit “I Will Always Love You.” The flight diverted to Kansas City, where cops removed the disruptive passenger — who, as this video shows, continued to sing the song as she was led away in handcuffs.

WARNING: Although this video has the most graphic content blurred, some readers may still find its contents disturbing. The video has emerged from the Syrian city of Homs, scene of some of the most bitter fighting in recent months between Syrian armed forces and those rebelling against the country’s president, Bashar Al-Assad. In the video the rebel, identified as Abu Bakkar, a leading rebel military leader in the area, appears to bend over the dead soldier’s body and hack away at his chest with a knife. In seconds he pulls out the man’s heart and takes a bite out of it.

In response to Abercrombie & Fitch’s refusal to carry XL or XXL sizes in women’s clothing, one man is taking it upon himself to rebrand the retailer. Greg Karber is so fed up with Abercrombie & Fitch’s attitude of only wanting to dress pretty, skinny and cool kids that he started a campaign to donate Abercrombie & Fitch clothing to homeless people.

Taiwan-based Next Media Animation was so inspired by a recent story out of Englewood, N.J. detailing a prostitution and cocaine bust at the Vincente K. Tibbs Senior Citizen Building, the company made one of its hallmark CGI videos illustrating the alleged crime, entitled “Crazy Old People: Senior Citizen Prostitution Ring BUSTED!”

Men and women are locked in the eternal debate of whether or not labor is really as painful as it is made out to be. Thanks to advances in technology, men can now experience the excruciating, debilitating contractions. A machine with electrodes on it delivers mild shocks to the abdomen simulate the feeling of going into labor, intensifying in duration and timing as the process progresses.

A woman rescued her baby from the tracks at the 56th Street SEPTA station in Philadelphia after the stroller holding the 14-month-old girl rolled off the platform Wednesday afternoon. The life-saving rescue was captured on surveillance video. The woman quickly jumped down onto the tracks, removed her baby from the stroller and placed the young girl onto the platform. A good Samaritan also jumped down on the tracks to help the woman get back up after she retrieved the stroller.

You don’t see this very often.  In Johnstown, Pennsylvania a deer crashes through the windshield of a bus.  The deer appears to be alright, yet frightened, as you can see it run around frantically trying to find its way out. Eventually, the deer finds the front door and makes its exit.  We love happy endings.
