JCPenney under fire for kettle that looks like Hitler

The headline seems somewhat outrageous but the more you look at the two photos above, the more the resemblance becomes obvious.

Trouble is boiling for JCPenney after people noticed that the giant billboard of an exclusive Michael Graves tea kettle on the 405 Interstate highway near Culver City in California, looks just like Adolph Hitler.

“That Hitler looks like a kettle,” commented one Reddit user.

“He even has his right arm extended,” commented another. “I’m a little Nazi, short and stout.”

The Kettle is designed by Michael Graves and retails for $40.

Another Reddit user believes the design was no accident.

“There’s no way that wasn’t done on purpose!” a Reddit user said. “Well, look at us – we’re all looking at and sharing a picture of an advertisement. “If it was done on purpose to get people’s attention, but keep the ability to deny doing it on purpose, it’s brilliant.”

According to Gawker, the retailer has not responded to the claims.

This isn’t the first time objects have been compared to the Nazi leader. There is an entire blog of photo comparisons titled “Things That Look Like Hitler.”
