The sister of the two alleged Boston Marathon bombers pleaded not guilty on Tuesday in a New Jersey court to marijuana-related charges.

Bella Tsarnaeva, 24, was arrested in December when police responded to report of a domestic dispute at her Fairvew, N.J. apartment.

She and her boyfriend, Ahmad Khalil, were each charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Tsarnaeva’s 19-year-old brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, is being held at a federal prison in Massachusettes, awaiting trial for his alleged role in the April 15 attacks in Boston that killed three people and injured more than 250 others. He could face the death penalty if convicted.

This week Tsarnaev reportedly spoke to his mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, and told her “everything will be fine.”

His brother and alleged mastermind of the attack, 26-year-old Tamerian Tsarnaev, died in a shootout with police in the days following the bombing.

Tsarnaeva’s lawyer, Mario Blanch, told media outlets that she had no involvement with the bombings, but has received death threats since the attack.
