UPDATE: Police said they did not find a weapon after George Zimmerman’s wife, Shellie, made a frantic 911 calling claiming her estranged husband was threatening her and her father with a gun, according to the AP.

The Monday dispute may have been captured on video, police said, but George Zimmerman reportedly smashed his wife’s iPad on the ground during the incident. The video, which could serve as evidence, will need to be recovered in a crime lab.

Metro’s original story is below.

George Zimmerman has had another run-in with the police after a gun-related domestic violence incident involving his wife and her father.

Police from Lake Mary, Fla., told the Orlando Sentinel that Zimmerman was not detained or in custody but was cooperating with the police.

Shellie Zimmerman, George Zimmerman’s wife, called 911 earlier today to report that her husband was threatening her and her father with a gun, according to the Sentinel. She and her father later declined to press charges.

Lake Mary police released Shellie Zimmerman’s 911 call; in it, she says her husband “keeps saying ‘step closer’” and he will shoot them, according to the Sentinel. She also tells the dispatcher that her husband hit her father in the face and that she is “really, really afraid” and “scared.”

George Zimmerman told police that his wife and her father were the aggressors in the altercation.

Shellie Zimmerman just announced she was divorcing her husband last week. Her brother, DJ Dean, told the Sentinel that George Zimmerman’s temperament had changed greatly after he killed Trayvon Martin.

“Before the incident he was probably the nicest person I ever met,” Dean told the Sentinel. “I think the guilt and self-hatred got to him.”
