Video: Disgruntled Mayor Rob Ford tackles councilwoman in Toronto City Hall

Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is really on a tear, and on Monday afternoon, an elderly female councilwoman got the brunt of it.

The hefty politician, 44, was caught on video charging across the floor at Toronto City Hall before knocking down Toronto City Councillor Pam McConnell. Ford, who has admitted to smoking crack, driving drunk and buying illegal drugs, later apologized for the incident, which left McConnell with a fat lip and followed calls to cut Ford’s budget and staff due to his bad behavior.

Ford said “I rushed over there because my brother was in an altercation.”

The incident was posted on YouTube, where viewers weighed in.

“Apparently they had set up a table with 40 Krispy Kreme donuts, and there were 41 people in the room. What’s a mayor to do?” said YouTube user Rob A.

Another user, BLFulle, argued that the video was misleading, saying, “The man didn’t run at her and grab her! He ran, she tried to stop him and he was unable to stop because of his size. He didn’t grab her! He held on to her so she wouldn’t get hurt. Why lie? There is just no point. The truth is bad enough.”
