Pennsylvania stabbing victim posts selfie

Even school stabbings are not immune to the selfie treatment. A teenage victim of Wednesday’s mass school stabbing in Pennsylvania posted a selfie from the hospital.

Earlier on Wednesday, a 16-year-old Pennsylvania student went on a stabbing rampage, injuring 20 students – nine of them seriously.

Nate Scimio was one of the injured students, and judging from the selfie he posted in Instagram, he looks like he is doing well. The young hero, who was praised for pulling the campus fire alarm, is recovering at UPMC Children’s Hospital, according to the Daily Mail. The Mail also reports that Scimio alerts other students about the situation and told them to run away. It is believed that he got stabbed in the arm after he stepped in front of other students.

Scimio posted a mirror selfie to Instagram with the caption “Chillin’ at Children’s.” He pointed to his wound in the photo.

Scimio got thousands of likes for the photo and many comments of encouragement.

Instagram user lexie_carlisle wrote, “Thank you for being an amazing inspiration to so many people. You are truly a hero, and saved so many important lives today. Not only did you save their lives, you saved so many more, like their family and friends. Thank you for being a true hero, I look up to you in so many ways.”

Commenter patricia_h1d echoed these sentiments, writing, “You are a huge hero. It was so smart to pull the fire alarm, you probably saved so many people from being injured. Without you, nobody would know what happened. Thank you so much for being a hero.”
