People, not their religion, are the force for good
Re: ‘Have a little faith in religion’ (Metro, June 19)
I am grateful for the charitable work done by religious persons.
However, I disagree that we have religion to thank for these good works.
Wherever selfless work is undertaken in a school or shelter or soup kitchen, it is not religion per se that we see at work, but people.
Let’s give credit where credit is due: not to systems of belief, but to those individuals of whatever religious creed who sacrifice their time and energy for the sake of others.
