Separation of state and wedding bells
Re: ‘Metro’s left side gets a workout’ (Metro, June 28-30)
If this country has a separation of church and state, why is it in the marriage business at all?
Establish a definition of a recognized civil union, with all of the inherent civil rights, equal to everyone.
This is the vehicle that defines a couple before the government.
Let marriage be the sacrament of religion, defined by each church as they please.
