Metro lacking Britishisms
Re: ‘Advice for the royal rugrat’ (Metro, Jul 25-28)
If we are going to talk about the difference in languages between America and England then firstly the young Prince would say “mummy” not “mom.”
His subjects as you would like to call us Brits drive on a different side of the road, not the wrong side.
Why does America always think it’s right? On the cultural front, we beat you hands down. “Cheerio” is a Scottish word for goodbye, not an English word.
The Prince won’t be celebrating Thanksgiving or the Fourth of July because the Brits don’t have such an occasion.
Why all the comparisons? I really don’t get your article; it could have been very clever and funny.
