Letter: Negotiations are necessary
Re: ‘Tea’d off about all the wrong things’ (Metro, Oct. 10)
Letter writer Joel Miller is once again spouting his liberal left dogma. Where does he get the idea that the Tea Party is excited and claiming that the government shouldn’t pay its obligations? Anyone who has a mortgage or pays rent knows that you can’t spend more than you have.
If at the end of the month your bills are more than the cash you have, that you don’t borrow more, but you find needless things to cut from your budget. That is what Obama and his brethren refuse to do, and something Congress has an obligation to force. Congress has sent bills to the Senate but Sen. Reid and President Obama refuse to negotiate.
