The former budget officer of the Northborough-Southborogh school district will spend two years in jail after he admitted to stealing more than $380,000 from taxpayers to support his drug addiction. Christopher Hoey, 35, of Stow, was also sentenced to the three years of probation, WCVB reported. Hoey told prosecutors much of the money he embezzled was used to fuel a Percocet and cocaine addiction, as well as to cover personal expenses. As a condition of his probation, Hoey was ordered to remain drug free and submit to random testing, the Worcester Telegram reported. The school district was fully reimbursed for the embezzled money by its insurance company.
