The MSPCA is teaming up with Animal Planet and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation to promote adoptions in their “Road to the Puppy Bowl” event.

Several yet-to-be-named players will be joined by the cheerleaders on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the MSPCA shelter at 350 S. Huntington Ave. in Jamaica Plain from 2 to 4 p.m. to take photos with fans and meet with animal adopters.

Animal Planet and the Patriots are footing the bill for the adoption fees, and those looking to take home an MVP (most valuable pet) need to register in advance.

“Those hoping to add a playful pup, a furry feline, a bouncing bunny or a variety of other pets can join Animal Planet at their local shelter for a fun-filled event with photo ops, giveaways and lots of adorable animals,” MSPCA spokesman Rob Halpin said in a statement. “The Puppy Bowl has led to hundreds of adoptions over the past 11 years and is a key leader in Animal Planet’s ongoing mission to highlight the importance of animal adoption and responsible pet ownership.”
