Pierogis — perhaps one of the crown jewels of all dumplings, somewhere between ravioli and gyoza, just below xiaolongbaos and empanadas. Who knew the Polish import — lightly fried until doughy and crisp with dollops of caramelized onions and sour cream — had such a natural accompaniment in ice cream?

Well, Jaju Pierogi and Gracie’s Ice Cream apparently did.

The two local businesses (Jaju of Beverly and Gracie’s of Union Square in Somerville) will team up Saturday for an evening pop-up of pierogi and ice cream pairings. For $14, guests get four savory handmade pierogis and two special dessert pierogis (blueberry and s’mores) with a scoop of Gracie’s ice cream. (Kids get two and one, plus ice cream, for $10.) Jaju will be bringing a range of their savory flavors — including potato and cheese; cabbage and mushroom; sweet potato and caramelized onion; and kielbasa and red pepper.
