Police seek person of interest in Yawkey Way shooting

Police seek person of interest in Yawkey Way shooting

Police released surveillance footage from a 2015 shooting they hope will help detectives identify a man who may have witnessed the gunfight on Yawkey Way.

Jephthe Chery was shot and killed around 2 a.m. on Nov. 26, 2015. Police said they believe Chery was merely an innocent bystander who was caught in the crossfire when the shooting occured.

Three other men were wounded, but survived their injuries. One of the suspects, Dominque Carpenter-Grady was arrested and indicted on firearms charges following his arrest.

Police are looking for a man in the video seen wearing a camouflage-print jacket and pacing back and forth near the scene prior to the gunfire.

Investigators stressed the man is not necessarily a suspect, and that they wanted to speak with him about his observations at the scene.
