The second annual Costume Dash 5k kicks off Saturday morning in Copley Square. Thousands of attendees will dash through Copley to Boston Commonas part of this national all-day excursion with simultaneous sister events in San Francisco and Charlotte. This year’s charity partner is the American Cancer Society and will wrap with a Harpoon-sponsored, swag-filled bar crawl through Back Bay — starting at Barracuda Tavern and ending at Pour House. Plus, everyone knows, pub crawls are always better when in costume. Copley Square, Boston, Oct. 29 at 9 a.m, $45 online registration required at costumedash.com or on race day from 7 to 8:30 a.m.

Hip advocates of physical activity Fit University and Mighty Squirrel are teaming up for a pre-party workout sessionon Saturday morning. Costumed participants will be led on a Fit University workout course before commencing at Conor Larkin’s to consume the extremely incentivizing Mighty Squirrel beer —a brew that boasts both low carb and high protein attributes. What. A costume contest and games will naturally ensue as the day goes on. 329 Huntington Ave., Boston, Oct. 29 at 11:30 a.m.

The Boston Road Runners have a niche costumed experience for you and your best matey in Lynn Woods. Guests not only will hit the gravel in this picturesque park while searching for buried (or just strategically placed) treasure. (We suspect it may come in the form of candy.) The run is 5.33 miles and pirate (and pirate affiliate) costumes are highlysuggested. Great Woods Road, Lynn, Oct. 29 at 9 a.m., Register through Oct. 27 atbostonroadrunners.org.
