PHOTOS: Skylar Diggins, Alex Morgan headline athletes in SI Swimsuit

Every year when the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is released, a big hubbub is made over the cover model. That’s great and all, but I think most sports fans are more interested in which athletes will be featured in a particular year.

The cover models for 2014 are Chrissy Teigen, Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge — putting their best cheek forward.

But the athletes featured in this year’s edition are U.S. women’s soccer star Alex Morgan, former Notre Dame star guard Skylar Diggins and surfer Anastasia Ashley.

Morgan has done it before — posing in only body paint last year — but the other two lovely ladies are first-timers. And if you surfed Twitter during Saturday night’s appearance by Diggins at NBA All-Star Weekend, you know she will be VERY popular as an addition.

We’ll link you to the full pages for Morgan, Diggins and Ashley here.

You can look at 20 or so each of their images online. Be forewarned, none are especially “safe for work,” but Ashley’s especially take full advantage of see-through tops.

Here’s a glimpse at Diggins …

Oh, and yes, Kate Upton is still featured prominently in this year’s edition, even if she didn’t make the cover for a third straight year.
