Phillies plan fan friendly opening homestand
Opening day in Philadelphia is April 7th, but the celebration will last for over a week as Citizens Bank Park and the Phillies prepare for a new season.
On opening night against the Brewers at 3:05 p.m., the Phillies will give away an opening night banner showing a birds eye view of the ballpark. At the next game, on Wednesday April 9, the Phillies will giveaway an opening night T-shirt. And the day after that, the giveaway will be a schedule magnet.
On the first Sunday game, April 13 against the Marlins at 1:35 p.m., the Phils will give away a commemorative baseball that shows images of some of the best Phillies moments of the last 10 years.
In May, the Phillies will hand out an imitation Louisville Slugger in honor of hall of famer and Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg.
Mothers Day will feature a derby hat for moms, and fathers day a fedora for dads. The Phillies also plan a Jim Bunning celebration with the man himself throwing the first pitch, in commemoration of his perfect game in 1964.
Other highlights include Chase Utley and Ryan Howard bobble head nights later in the season
